Nursing Home Resident Punches Another Resident In Face For Trying To Steal Food; Victim Critical

A nursing home resident was arrested after punching a man in a wheelchair because he thought the victim was stealing his food Friday at a nursing home, according to police.

The 62-year-old man was charged with felony aggravated battery, according to a police report.

He allegedly struck a 72-year-old man, who was in a wheelchair, on the face with a closed fist causing him to become unconscious, according to police. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The arrested man allegedly stated, “he was trying to steal my food and that is why I hit him. I held onto the bed with my right hand and hit him with my left hand,’’ according to the report. For more, read the story.
