Nursing Home Resident Struck in Head by Shotgun Blast, Minor Injuries Reported

A 61-year-old woman suffered minor injuries as a result of a shooting incident at a nursing home late last Thursday. The woman, whose name was not released by police, was transported by emergency transport services to the hospital. She was treated for minor head injuries, police said. She was conscious and alert Friday morning and expected to be released back to the nursing home shortly after.

Police responded to the nursing home, about 11:15 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a shooting. Police discovered that a single shotgun blast had been fired through a rear window of the facility. The room where the window was located was occupied by three residents. Police are investigating the shooting and are pursuing several leads.  For more, read the story.
