Nursing Home Shuts Down With No Warning To Workers Expecting Paychecks

Nursing home workers coming to pick up paychecks arrived to the surprise of a closed facility.  The workers had been told the facility was under renovation when residents were being taken out of the home and transferred. All but five guests were removed by the time the facility was closed.

Workers gathered outside the facility to share with reporters how little they knew and how their personal finances would be suffering due to the lack of paycheck and lack of information. They were told in a letter just a day or two prior that the facility would be closing due to “large financial losses”. For more, read the story.
