Nursing Home Staff Levels Falsified To Increase Rankings

Nursing homes are over-reporting staffing numbers to receive higher ratings in a comparative list of nursing homes. A news investigation took place after numerous nursing homes reported their staffing levels. Nursing homes were ranking high on the list and raising question regarding staffing levels.

The Medicare office is aware that self-reporting can lead to falsified information or inflation of ratings, however, the process has not been addressed at this point.
