Nursing Home Worker Charged Thanks To Theft Detection Powder

After numerous thefts of a patient at a nursing home, police performed a sting operation to identify the culprit.  Powder that turns purple when it makes contact with the skin and even more purple when a person tries to wash it off ultimately solved the case. The theft detection powder was put on currency and placed in a patient’s drawer.

The nursing home employee was arrested and released on $750 personal recognizance. Formal charges will be read in an upcoming court appearance. For more, read the story.
