Nursing Home Worker Charged With Negligent Homicide, Felony Assault

A nursing home worker involved in an incident leading to a patient’s death has been charged with criminally negligent homicide, felony assault, and endangering of a welfare adult.  The patient fell into a broken table after being punched by the nursing home worker and was impaled. Injuries from the incident led to the patient’s death shortly after.

“Nursing home residents are often a vulnerable population who sometimes cannot defend themselves or even communicate when abuse or neglect has occurred,” said the managing attorney on the case. “It is horrific to think that individuals who are entrusted to care for our loved ones would use that power to inflict harm but, unfortunately this is sometimes the case.” For more, read the story.
