Ongoing Problems Exposed in Nursing Home

A series of problems with service and company policies has ignited an investigation of a nursing home including a homicide that occurred there earlier this year. The nursing home has a long list of resident outbursts and agitated behaviors. Staff doesn’t seem to be equipped with the necessary skills or training at assisting to control these behaviors.

Recently, two residents were fighting and one resident needed medical attention. After a brief hospital stay, the resident was sent back to the nursing home where he later died. Investigators add this to the list of problems the nursing home has faced over the years and are unsure of pressing charges due to the medical history of both residents.

Based on reports from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the facility has consistently failed to put in place, policies and care plans that address combative behaviors among residents which is prevalent. A representative from the city of adult services indicates that within two week, long-term care residents should have a comprehensive care plan in place. For more, read the story.
