Operator of Assisted Living Facility Arrested for Possessing Medication

The manager of a small assisted living facility was arrested after she was found with prescription drugs that belonged to former residents, police said Friday. The woman was arrested earlier this month on multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance after police found a box containing pill bottles and plastic bags full of pills in the woman's room, according to the report.

The woman told police she was planning to dispose of the pills but did not know until that day that she could take the pills to the police to be destroyed. The medications included were for Alzheimer's disease, pain relievers, blood thinners, antibiotics and a medicine to control schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The woman was previously arrested in 2007 for operating an assisted living facility without a license. For more, read the story.
