Owner of Illegal Assisted-Living Facilities Talks

Four allegedly illegal assisted-living facilities were ordered to shut down for terrible living conditions and mistreatment of its patients. The owner was willing to talk as she was asked about a history of problems with her homes.

The Sheriff's Office stated that the owner kept a lock on the refrigerator and medications from residents. Investigators also found roaches and bedbugs within the homes although the owner says that pest control sprays the homes monthly.

The owner was also found to be working under a license that permits the operation of vacation homes, not assisted living homes. The owner has been fined for the same offense two years ago. For more, read the story.
