Patient with Alzheimer's Found Dead

An elderly long-term care patient who suffered from Alzheimer’s was discovered dead in an alley. The patient was admitted to the nursing home to recover from recent surgery. During a bed check, staff noticed that he was not in his room.

Police were called and a search was conducted together with the nursing home staff but the search unsuccessful. The State Police also provided search and rescue teams to assist in locating the missing patient.

The search was suspended just a day after the patient went missing and there were other reports from citizens about anything unusual in the neighborhood prior to the discovery. It was not determined how he was able to get out of the facility undetected. For more, read the story.
