Registered Sex Offender Hired by Nursing Home Sentenced to Prison for Groping Resident

The District Attorney involved in the case of a registered sex offender who groped a 91-year-old nursing home resident has not ruled out criminal charges against the facility. The former employee was a level 3 registered sex offender when he was hired at the home in 2008.

The man was released on parole earlier in 2008 after serving 16 years for convicted rape. The man was sentenced this week to four years in prion after he pleaded guilty to sexual abuse last month. The district attorney said prosecuting the offender was just the first phase of an ongoing investigation. The facility will now be investigated to see whether they acted criminally in hiring the man.
