Six Nursing Home Employees Charged In Connection With Illegal Sales of Pain Medication
Prosecutors have filed drug-related charges against six employees of a nursing home. According to the office of the State Bureau of Narcotics, the employees are accused of calling in fraudulent prescriptions to pharmacies to obtain powerful pain medications.
Officials say there is no evidence any residents were deprived of their medications, only that additional, fraudulent prescriptions were being called in. The employees would then sell the medication on the street. Charges were filed against the 6 individuals including conspiracy to obtain controlled substances by fraud and Medicaid fraud.
