Son Sues Nursing Home After Mother Dies From Assault By Another Resident

The son of a nursing home resident has sued the facility after his mother's 2010 death. According to police, the  84-year-old dementia patient wandered into a 58-year-old male resident's room. Staff heard the female resident shouting and went in to find her on the floor with severe injuries.

The woman died two days later of her injuries which included a laceration to her head, fractured right clavicle, multiple left rib fractures, a collapsed lung, and a fractured vertebrae. According to police documents, the elderly woman suffered from dementia and was know to wander around the facility. For more, read the story.
