Treatment of Pressure Ulcers Requires Continuum of Care, Expert Says

A pressure sore (pressure ulcer, bed sore, decubitus ulcer) expert recently wrote an article in McKnight's Long-Term Care News & Assisted Living where he stated that, "understanding the seriousness and complexity of pressure ulcers relating to continuum of care requires addressing government regulations, legal responsibilities, appropriate medical practice guidelines and financial responsibility." He further stated that "to accomplish this goal, pressure ulcer management must occur not only from admission through discharge, but continued to the next level of care by all medical facilities and homecare agencies."
