Two Accused of Elder Abuse an Assisted Care Facility

Arrests were made involving two people that were responsible for causing injuries of a 93-year-old woman at an assisted care facility. Authorities were informed that caregivers at the facility were thought to be involved in the abuse that had been going on for some time.

Staff members report that the two employees hit the resident with fists and other objects and thrown her onto her bed. Once the resident’s injuries were witnessed by law enforcement, the resident was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Other residents were interviewed by authorities and state agencies as a precaution to make sure they were not injured as well. The abusers are no longer working at the facility and are being held at an adult detention center.  For more, read the story.
