Two Nurses Fired From Hospital Where They Placed Tape Over a Patient's Mouth

A hospital has fired two nurses after they allegedly taped a patient's mouth shut and then laughed about it. A spokeswoman for the medical center says the nurses were fired last week and the incident has been reported to the state Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

The patient was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit on December 17 with nausea and anxiety from taking medication for chronic pain. the woman's daughter says the nurses told her mother to shut up and taped her mouth closed. The nurses then joked they would be fired if they were caught. The woman's daughter reported the incident to hospital officials. For more, read the story.
