Veteran Illegally Kicked Out Of Nursing Home And Denied Critical Care

A veteran was dropped off at an apartment without medication or food after being kicked out by a nursing home for unpaid bills. A new neighbor noticed he was left with nothing and brought a few things to him. She also called the facility but was unable to reach anyone who would speak to her about the veteran.

The next morning she called the home again and after no response called an ambulance. He was taken to a hospital and treated for pneumonia and sepsis. He was returned to the home where the administrator was no longer working. The state law says that no one can be denied critical care. An investigation is pending. For more, read the story.
