Veteran's Center Employee Arrested for Abusing Four Vulnerable Adult Patients

District Attorney of one state has filed charges against a veteran's center employee targeted more than two weeks ago in a patient abuse case. The 47-year-old employee was formally charged this week with four counts of abuse by caretaker. The charges, which list four separate victims, accuse the man of using “excessive force” while caring for the victims, all described as “vulnerable adults” residing at the center.

Norris said the original investigation was launched based on a anonymous letter received by police. The letter stated an employee at the veterans center and had been behaving suspiciously. Interviews revealed at least one victim had reported being assaulted to officials at the Veteran Center months ago. Center officials failed to report the incident to police and they continued to keep the employee on the payroll. For more, read the story.
