Victim's Family Lawsuit Says Nursing Home Homicide/Suicide Could Have Been Prevented

A nurse at a nursing home is dead along with one of her patients after she shot her patient in the chest and then shot herself in the head. A lawsuit has been filed by the family of the man she shot and killed. The family of the patient who died says the nursing home should have dealt with the nurse’s strange behavior to prevent the incident.

The nursing home staff validated the fact that the nurse’s behavior was odd for days leading up to the homicide/suicide. The nurse made comments regarding her frustrations with co-workers and patients. She was also known to carry a gun on site. The nursing home would not comment on the incident.
