Wandering Nursing Home Resident Arrested for Various Crimes in Community

Police have discovered that a man they arrested on May16th, for peeking into the windows of homes in the area, is a nursing home resident. Police thought the man was homeless and arrested him on outstanding warrants. However, state regulator's have since discovered that he resides in a nursing home, where the staff had been charting the entire time that this man was in his room watching television. According to investigators, the nursing home had no idea that the resident had left the facility and was committing crimes in the local neighborhood.

The facility received a citation for this event as well as an additional 34 citations for other care violations. The facility also failed to meet state and federal requirements in November and December of 2009, and in January of 2010, that's three months back-to-back. The home was also in trouble twelve years ago, when it was almost shut down for repeated violations. For more, read the story.
