Whistle-Blower Says Nursing Home Operators Accepted Kickbacks

Two nursing home operators must stand trial to face a whistle-blower's allegations that the father and son took kickbacks related to the sale of a pharmacy company which contracted with their nursing homes.

The suit alleges that father and son nursing home operators were given kickbacks by inflating the price paid for the pharmacy in order to keep long-term pharmacy contracts with the nursing homes that the pair operated.

The owners also directed all of the nursing homes that they owned to cease doing business with their current pharmacies and replace them with the one in which they were receiving the kickbacks. One of the owners received six figure donations to support a religious school he had built. For more, read the story.
