Woman Continues To Operate Assisted Living Facility Even After First Arrest For No License

A woman has been arrested for the second time for operating an assisted living facility without a license. This arrest also includes a charge of abusing a disabled adult in her care.

To legally and properly operate an assisted living facility, there are various administrative and operational requirements which must be met, including the safe management of medication by trained staff personnel. Because the woman's facility is not a licensed assisted living facility, her actions in administering medication significantly jeopardized the resident’s safety, resulting in a criminal charge of abuse. For more, read the story.

When selecting a nursing home or assisted living facility for yourself or a loved one, you should always verify proper licenses.
